Rev. Megan Winget

I am originally from Willard, a suburb of Springfield, MO. After earning a Psychology degree from Missouri State, I attended seminary at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. I graduated with a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Theology in World Missions and Evangelism. I began full time ministry in Kansas City in 2005. I moved to the beautiful countryside of Holt County in 2012 when I began ministry in Oregon and Forest City. I became a foster parent in 2013 and was married in 2014 to David Winget. We love to play games, be active in Scouts and sports with our boys. Life has been fun and exciting here in Holt County and we are looking forward to more.

Rev. Janis Roorda

I serve as the Pastor primarily assigned to Mound City United Methodist Church. My story is an illustration of the amazing things God can do when we begin to pay attention to the voice of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

I am what might be called a “late bloomer” when it comes to being a Pastor, as I didn’t go to seminary until I was older. Prior to that I was an RN, and a Chaplain I am a mother and grandmother, and live with my husband on our farm in northern Holt County, where I enjoy flowers and reading.

If there is one things I've discovered about the journey with God, it's that it is never too late to begin - or pick up where we left off. We are constantly given the opportunity to change and to offer ourselves, and it is the greatest blessing we can experience.
